Cascadia Peace Development Fund | Print |  E-mail
cpdf_logo_a_001_rgb.jpgPeace Partnership International has signed a memorandum of understanding to serve as fiscal sponsor for Cascadia Peace Development Fund, a for-profit enterprise working to promote "practical peacebuilding." Cascadia funds financially viable products and sustainable programs worldwide that promote peace, and it supports individuals and organizations who are working to bring about peace. All revenues are invested back into funding further peace projects, including those of Peace Partnership International.

Peacebuilding Program Types

The Cascadia Peace Development Fund intends to support a variety of peacebuilding program types. Opportunities include investment in or grants to programs impacting international relations, conflict risk areas, peacekeeping, prisons, schools, public information, and family and community health. These may involve conferences and symposia; school and university curricula; e-learning programs, documentary film and television programming; certification programs for policy professionals; research in partnership with groups such as the World Health Organization; publication of books and professional articles; audio programming; and resource center (including web) development.

Revenues and Profits

Revenues from Fund royalties are reinvested in peacebuilding enterprises. A percentage of Fund returns and profits from Cascadia's work are contributed to nonprofit organizations working to promote peace. No other organizations or persons receive any of the profits from the income Cascadia generates.

Support Resources

Cascadia will make a broad range of support services available — many free — to strengthen the possibilities for success of recipient programs and products. One of Cascadia’s goals is to create a web-based resource center so that funding recipients can get the support they need easily, quickly, and at any time.
